Xbox is said to have already endorsed the forthcoming venture by Ninja Theory, even amidst whispers of the studio's impending shutdown. It is believed that Microsoft has given its nod of approval for the next endeavor by Ninja Theory.
The news came shortly after Microsoft announced its decision to cease operations at four of Bethesda Softworks' studios, including teams like Arkane Austin and the minds behind Hi-Fi Rush, Tango Gameworks. This sparked a wave of worry among fans, particularly about the scarce promotional efforts for Ninja Theory's latest work, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.
With studio shutdowns happening and just a fortnight before the game’s debut, the community voiced their apprehensions regarding the minimal buzz surrounding the game's follow-up. They feared it might dampen the initial excitement and commercial success for Hellblade 2, possibly pushing Ninja Theory towards shutdown as a way to reduce expenses.
Nonetheless, these speculations were quashed by Aaron Greenberg of Xbox Games Marketing. He reassured the fanbase by stating, "Our global paid media campaign kicked off yesterday" [May 8], spreading across various social media channels.
A recent piece by Windows Central has also discredited the worries concerning the future of the studio. The outlet reported, "the studio remains far from closure at any point in the near future". Furthermore, "reliable sources" have revealed that Microsoft has already sanctioned the team's next project, along with Ninja Theory's Project: Mara.
There are no additional details available about the forthcoming project, and Ninja Theory has not made an official announcement about any new titles currently in development.
The highly anticipated Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 was released today (May 21) across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, and PC platforms.
